Match Report

Falkland took a big step away from any possibility of relegation with a convincing win over bottom team Edinburgh at Academy Park, Leith.

Put into bat in diffcult,damp conditions Falkland's openers Tim Lythe and Graeme Watson put on 97 for the first wicket with Lythe's 76 particularly impressive. Falkland finished with 181 after Ryan Hepburn and Alan Hamilton senior added valuable runs at the end following a distressing middle order collapse.

Edinburgh struggled at the start of their innings and only a good 72 from Farooq put a modicum of respectability on their total. For Falkland, the catching was impressive, as was the tight bowling of Nick Cunningham and Kevin Chapman.

It was a good all round team performance which has now lifted the side from 9th to 6th in the table.
