Falkland made a brave effort to reach SMRH's giant total of 271, but fell 36 runs short.
Falkland will regret their fielding lapses in the afternoon which possibly cost the team some 100 runs through dropped catches and sloppy ground fielding. Nevertheless there was some fine bowling from Nick Cunningham and both Hamiltons, father and son.
In reply, Falkland made a steady start through Tim Lythe, Paul Watson and Davie Gray. Craig Trewartha's 53 was very impressive and for a while it looked as if Falkland might pull off an unlikely victory until Trewartha was dismissed by a brilliant catch at point. From then on, although the tail wagged, the total looked beyond Falkland.
The weather was fine, but there was one torrential downpour just before the tea interval which lasted about 50 minutes.
SMRH 10 points, Falkland 3
