G.Gallagher 3-5 Falkland had a comfortable win in a friendly 20-20 over a weakened St.Andrews Univ. Staff side who had five regulars missing.
Falkland pro, Tim Lythe, at last getting a bat after a frustrating few weeks of poor weather, found some good early season form, stroking 71 ret. off 35 balls. Overseas amateur Kevin Chapman also made a good start to his season with 52 ret. off 26 balls. After this pair had put on 129 in the first 10 overs, other batsmen, notably Alan Hamilton Jr., Euan Bell and Craig Hepburn chipped in with useful knocks to bring the Falkland total to a healthy 179 for 3. St.Andrews Univ. Staff amassed 82, losing thier last wicket in the last over. Nine bowlers were used by skipper Craig Hepburn, the most successful being Geordie Gallagher who picked up 3-5 in 3 tight overs. Tam Brunton and Euan Bell also recorded good figures whilst young Sean Hunter picked up his first wicket for the club. |
